A transverse bed-slope equation is developed which compares very well with experimental data and field data at the Fall River and Muddy Creek, USA. Stream-wise computations are successfully performed of the transverse bed slopes in the Fall River. Correction for the thickness of the bed-load layer in curved channels and expression for the lateral distribution of grain sizes are presented. A contribution is made in developing the upslope lateral bed-load transport rate equation which allows modification of well-known existing transverse bedload rate equations. An expression of the stream-wise bed-load transport in curved and meandering channels is proposed. The developed approach equations have a higher degree of physical realism than existing methods.}, journal = {American Journal of Environmental Sciences}, publisher = {Science Publications} }
